Frequently asked questions
How does the Snapbid payment split work?
Snapbid uses a 10/90 split. The homeowner pays a 10% deposit when they accept a bid, and the remaining 90% is charged after the work is complete and the homeowner approves it.
What if I am not happy with the finished work?
You have a 24-hour review window after the contractor marks the job complete. During that window you can approve the work, request changes, or open a dispute with photo evidence before the final payment is released.
Who actually charges my card?
Payments are processed by Stripe and the contractor is the merchant of record. Snapbid collects a 5% platform fee from the contractor's side of the transaction, not as an extra charge to the homeowner.
Are there any fees for homeowners?
No. Homeowners pay only the bid amount they accepted. Posting jobs, receiving bids, and using Snapbid's AI estimate and visualizer tools are free.
